LPG And CNG Pressure Sensors Kavlico, a global business unit of Custom Sensors & Technologies (CST) has released a line of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and compressed natural gas (CNG) pressure sensors to support vehicles and indus- trial equipment utilizing alternative fuels. Typical applica- tions would include monitoring and measuring low pres- sure for fuel rail, high pressure for tank pressure, or combined pressure and temperature. Kavlico’s stainless- steel LPG and CNG sensors utilize a thin film (TiON) sensing element and are available in pressure ranges up to 3626 psig. Operating on 5 Vdc, the sensors provide a linear ampli- fied analog output of 0.5 to 4. 5 Vdc proportional to pressure. Operating temperature range is 6. 8° to 284°F across the full operating range, Kavlico said.

Selectable Gearboxes For Test Stands Cotta Transmission Co. has introduced selectable speed output capability for the com- pany’s SN2057 high-speed transmission for test-stand applications. When the test speed requirement changes, Cotta said, the gearbox’s lower-speed output cartridge can be removed and replaced by a higher-speed cartridge with no further refitting, take- down or new equipment. The gearbox features a nominal capacity of 350 hp, 50,000 rpm maximum output speed, 6000 rpm maximum input speed, and standard ratios of 8. 50 and 11.96. Custom ratios are also available. Offered with speed increasers and decreasers, Cotta’s high-speed transmissions and gearboxes are used in applications ranging from power generation to centrifugal driers.
