Audio Connectors
Pressure Transducers
nCode International has announced that its SoMat Sensors products division has
added a new line of pressure transducers, the series SPT-HLS. The sensors use a
shock-resistant thin film to maintain accuracy over a wide temperature range, during
extreme dynamic conditions and hostile environments, nCode said. Available in eight
different pressure ranges from 150 to 9000 psi, the sensors are designed to work with a
variety of fluids and are engineered to be protected from EMI emissions.

The standard MIL-DTL-55116 audio connectors that are used in 60 V audio frequency circuits with 9. 5 amps of current
to provide effective EMI filtering have
been modified by Spectrum Control Inc.
to be waterproof and polarized with five-or six-pin electrical plugs/receptacles.
The ideal application for this product is
with military and civilian communication
applications where harsh conditions are
present. With a capacitance value range
of 10 pF to 1mF, the connectors meet all
requirements of MIL-STD-810F,
Spectrum said, including sand and dust,
salt, fog, high-altitude operation, fungus
resistance and immersion to 20 m.

Security System
The ACJ Security System from SPAL
USA uses electronic dialog between the
vehicle-based control unit and a personal
identification transmitter for the protection of commercial and personal vehicles
as well as heavy equipment. Personal
identification transmitters, used in the
systems, are individually programmed by
the vehicle’s owner with the ability to
accept up to four different personal identification transmitters to allow for multiple
users. If the dialog fails, an automatic
system triggers a siren and blinkers,
electronically cutting the engine and rendering the vehicle immobile. There are
two models available: ACJ, with two
transmitters, buzzer, hidden on/off
switch, wiring harness and all hardware;
and the ACJ Deluxe, also including a
leather carrying case and belt clip for the
transmitters.
