Deere Confirms Allen As Chairman
Deere & Co. said that its board of direc- tors has elected
Samuel R. Allen
as chair- man of the board, effective at the conclu- sion of the Feb. 24, 2010, annual meeting of stockholders. Allen will continue as Deere & Co. president and chief executive officer. This confirms Deere’s previous announcement in which Allen becomes chairman immediately following the expira- tion of
Robert W. Lane
’s current term as chairman and member of the Deere board of directors. The board also voted to reduce the size of the board to 11 mem- bers, effective at the same time as Allen becomes chairman. In June, Deere announced that its board had elected Allen to become presi- dent and chief operating officer, as well as a member of the board of directors effec- tive June 1, and chief executive officer effective Aug. 1. Allen is a 34-year veteran of Deere and has served as a senior officer at Deere since 2001, including president of the Worldwide Construction & Forestry Div- ision. Allen also led Deere Power Systems Group, John Deere Credit’s global opera- tions and Deere’s global human resources and labor relations. his career, he worked in the Consumer Products Division, Worldwide Con- struction & Forestry Division, Deere Power Systems Group and the Worldwide Agricultural Division, including managing operations in Latin America, East Asia and Australia.
New Ops Manager At MEC Engineered Products
Mayville Engineering Co. Inc. (MEC) has announced the addition of
Ralph Schuh
as operations manager for its MEC Engineered Products division. Schuh will be responsible for all phases of operation for the division with a specific focus on assembly processes and final product testing. He will also use the sales and marketing plan for the business to develop appropriate capacities to support long-term growth. Schuh is a licensed master electrician, as well as a certified commercial electrical inspector. He has over 25 years of prior operations man- agement experience, most recently as a national operations manager. MEC Engineered Products was launched in April to be a provider of power packaging products and services to the power gen- eration industry targeting generator OEMs and their distribution networks. Core services focus on full gen-set pack- aging, which includes generator mount- ing, installation of ancillary equipment, wiring, testing and validation.
