obcat Co. has expanded its M Series line of loaders and excavators with the new E60 excavator model. The new excavator competes in the 6 ton weight class and has a minimal tail swing for work in confined areas and next to buildings. Bobcat has given the E60 excavator a completely new design to increase machine durability and improve opera- tor comfort to keep the operator work- ing in the machine longer. The new design also incorporates increased service intervals to reduce the amount of time the operator must spend on the upkeep of the machine. With dimensions of 18. 4 ft. long by 6. 5 ft. wide by 8. 4 ft. high, the E60 excavator is targeted toward trench- ing and excavation applications such as digging for pools, sewer and water installation, and maintenance. It is also suited for lift and place applica- tions such as hardscape landscaping and demolition activities including concrete tear out; sort and loading; using breaker, bucket and clamp attachments; or compaction with a plate compactor and packer wheel. Powering the E60 excavator is a Tier 4 interim Yanmar diesel engine devel- oping 52. 3 hp at 2200 rpm. The engine has an auto-idle feature to reduce fuel consumption when the machine is not
