CONSTRUCTING A CLASSIER CATAMARAN
Luxury and comfort are the focus for Pacific Expedition Yachts’ new 63 ft. Expedition Class power catamaran

acific Expedition Yachts LLC has launched its new PE60 Expedition Class power cata- maran. Based in Astoria, Ore., Pacific Expedition Yachts designs, builds and markets a range of Expedition Class power catamarans designed for long- range travel with a specific focus on luxury and comfort. The new PE60, which is 63 ft. long with a 25.08 ft. beam, 5. 83 ft. hull and 36 to 44 in. draft based on load, is one of three Expedition Class catamarans. Pacific Expedition Yachts also pro- duces the 53 ft. PE50 and the CE47 (Coastal Expedition) that the company said represents an entirely new line of boats. The CE47 is a full displacement hull design that offers optimal fuel economy at slower long-range speeds as well as the ability to exceed 20 knots, Pacific Expedition Yachts said. The new PE60 Expedition Class power catamaran has a center hallway design, leading directly forward to the full-beam owner’s stateroom with the availability for up to six staterooms. A raised sky lounge, side deck and rear upper sun deck provide additional gathering space while the helm and pilothouse area keep controls and elec- tronics separate from the living space. The engine room on the PE60 cata- maran is sound insulated. Propulsion is provided by dual 8. 3 L Cummins QSB diesel engines rated 600 hp.
