formance, Sauer-Danfoss said. In ad- dition, they have two valves, helping to clip pressure spikes in both directions of fan rotation, Arndt said. These two features allow the equipment manufac- turer more power utilization, due to higher pressure capabilities. The SGM2 model features the D03 valve, a two-position directional valve that controls fan rotation. The SGM3 unit incorporates the D05 valve. High- temperature seals allow operation from - 4° to 230°F. With its 3600 psi pressure capability, the SGM3 can be applied on higher-horsepower fans, Arndt said. The design of the SGM2 and SGM3 aluminum motors includes a steel rear cover to handle higher pressure and durability requirements, with equally matched valves. In addition, outrigger bearings provide increased capability for heavy metal fan blades and for machines that swing with higher gyroscopic loads. Arndt said the use of outrigger bear- ings means the fan drive motors can be used with higher horsepower fans or in high shock, radial and axial load, slewing and oscillating applications. A dust protector comes standard with the outrigger bearing for extended life. New outrigger bearings are avail- able for all existing SGM2 and SGM3 fan drive motors. The motors come standard with 12 or 24 V Deutsch connectors to handle dusty and dirty operating conditions. The SGM2 and SGM3 fan drive motors come assembled as a single piece, including the factory-sealed outrigger bearing and integrated reversing function. An electronic interface makes the SGM motors fully PLUS+ 1 compliant to integrate with PLUS+ 1 microcontrollers and other compliant products, including sensors, joysticks and graphical dis- play terminals. dp
