MTS Systems Corp. re-
cently introduced the new
Temposonics C-series
model CR Rod and
Cylinder sensor, which is designed for off-highway machines. The
sensor contains an internal noncontact piston-mounted magnet on
a rod that extends and retracts to measure motion. It also features a
0.07 in.-thick housing, a 0.49 in. stiff rod and is IP 67 rated, making it
capable of withstanding a variety of harsh-environment applications,
according to the company. The sensor is available in two analog
models, a 5 Vdc supply ratio metric output version and 12 Vdc sup-
ply reference voltage output version.

Disconnect Switch
Cole Hersee has introduced its
SureStart low-voltage disconnect
switch 48513. The device electroni-
cally senses battery voltage and
conserves starting power by dis-
connecting noncritical loads, which
prolongs battery life by preventing
damage from excessive discharge,
according to the company. The switch has a rating of 100 Amps
at 12 or 24 Vdc, and has a service life that surpasses 1 million
on/off cycles. The switch is also compact ( 4. 5 in. by 4 in. by 4. 27
in.), making it easier to install in a new or old vehicle, according
to the company, and is ideal for utility and delivery vehicles.

Proportional Hydraulic Control Valve
Cross Manufacturing Inc. has announced an expansion of its
B Series with the launch of the BP Series proportional hydrau-
lic control valve. Targeted at applications where control of a
hydraulic cylinder or motor speed is required, the BP valve is
designed to control speed and direction with a variable voltage
input signal. It also allows for remote mounting of electronic
input controllers. The new BP proportional hydraulic control
valve is rated 25 gpm with 3000 psi working pressure. It has cyl-
inder port load checks, an internal pilot and internal drain. The
design includes all SAE ports and a closed center configuration
all in a high tensile strength cast-iron body with select fit spools
and Buna N seals. It also features zero to 12 Vdc control.
