Smaller Is Better For
Generac’s GP Series
Generac Power Systems, Waukesha, Wis., has re-en - gineered its GP Series of por-
table generator sets to provide a more
compact design for easier portability.
According to Generac, the GP series
offers an upgraded power-to-size ratio,
while remaining affordable in the por -
table generator market.
The GP series generators are used
in a variety of applications, including
construction, outdoor events, camp -
ing and home uses, according to
Clement Feng, Generac’s senio r vice
president, marketing. They are the
first in the company’s gen-set range
to feature a new compact design that
is 15% smaller than previous models.

engine wit h engine displacement s
ranging from 163 to 389 cc, depend -
ing on the model.
The larger six models — GP7000,
GP7000E, G P8000, G P8000E,
GP15000E and GP17500E — fea -
ture Ge nerac OH VI en gines w ith
displacements of 410 to 992 cc.
According to Generac, fuel tank size
for the series ranges from 4 to 16
gal., which allows for a runtime of 10
to 14. 5 hours at 50% load, depending
on the model.
