Champion’s new M786 low-profile motor grader targets underground mining applications
BY KYLE KOPPLIN
Champion Motor Graders, Charlotte, N.C., is taking its line of compact graders
underground. With a maximum height
of 7 ft., the M786 low-profile compact
grader — which is based on the
company’s all-wheel drive C86 C
series machine — has been structurally reinforced and specifically
designed for use in underground
mines, the company said.
According to Champion, much of
the motivation for developing the
M786 came by word of mouth from
dealers and mine operators who were
encountering recurring size and dura-
bility issues when attempting to use
conventional graders in underground
mining applications.
With a maximum height of 7 ft., Champion’s M786 low-profile compact grader
has been structurally reinforced and designed strictly for underground use.
