EMISSIONS TECHNOLOGY
GTE Industries has developed two new series of
three-way catalytic exhaust products, the 910R
(shown here) and 911R, both designed with replace-
able elements for rich-burn natural gas engines.

New Three-Way
Catalysts For
Gas Engines
GTE Industries, the Lincoln, Neb.-based manufacturer of sound and emissions reduction products, has developed two new
series of three-way catalytic exhaust
systems with replaceable elements for
rich-burn natural gas engines. The 910R
and 911R catalysts allow users to retrofit
existing exhaust systems and can also
be used on new packages going into
non-attainment areas where the catalytic elements enable the engines to meet
local and national regulations without
overhaul, the company said.
Engineered to be inserted in the exhaust system ahead of the existing
silencer, the 910R and 911R series catalysts are compact and customizable,
GTE said. A patented washcoating technology is designed to prevent sintering
under high-temperature environments,
while the high-heat, black powder finish
coat enhances durability and weather
resistance, the company said.
Each model in the new series match-
es its counterpart in every dimension
except for percentage of emissions
reduction (see related chart). An air-fuel
ratio controller is required for all models.
