The gen-sets are operated through
Basler DGC 2020 controllers, digi-
tal voltage regulators and annun-
ciators, with Cutler-Hammer circuit
breakers standard.
“Basler controllers were selected
as standard in order to keep the
electronics uniform,” said Leach. “The
practicality of keeping with one manufacturer was determined with servicing aspects in mind. If an end user
ever does have an issue with the
electronics, there is one company
to call to discuss all matters and not
several separate ones.
“Additionally, the Basler BestCom
logic was chosen to be most user-
friendly in developing the means of
incorporating nuances related to cus-
tomization. We decided that BestCom
was easiest for us to program and
incorporate additional I/Os and also
exporting Modbus to a BAS system.
Another factor was in the amount
of additional equipment that Basler
offered such as the LSM-2020, which
allows for load sharing.”
The gen-sets are housed within
aluminum or steel enclosures with
powder coat finishes for resistance
to weather conditions. The enclo-
sure hardware is all stainless steel
for maximum resistance to rust and
corrosion. Hinged access doors
allow for access to the engine and
generator, and oil and fluid drain
lines are plumbed to the outside of
the enclosure.
