MOBILE HYDRAULICS
New Load-Sensing
Proportional Valve
From Bucher
Bucher Hydraulics has devel- oped a new load-sensing proportional valve deigned for
a wide variety of applications including mobile and stationary cranes and
wheel loaders. The SVC25 valve incorporates a sandwich design and is engineered to accommodate flow rates up
to 158 gpm with correspondingly high
operating pressures up to 6000 psi.
A special geometry along the control
flanges of the individual valve piston
gives the SVC25 good proportionality
and stability, Bucher said. It is standard
with hydraulic or electrohydraulic controls, but a manually operated version
is also available. The manual valves,
Bucher explained, work in a similar
manner to hydraulically actuated pressure reducing valves. The advantage
of this kind of actuation is that leverage
forces are low and leverage lengths
can be kept short, the company said.
Manual operation serves as a direct
proportional control of the directional
valve and is frequently required for
applications such as winch controls.
It can also be used as an emergency
hand lever.
Load-sensing proportional valves
are used in applications where sensi-
tive and precise load control is critical,
Bucher’s new SVC25 load-sensing pro-
portional valves are available in manually
operated, hydraulic and electrohydraulic
controlled configurations.
such as in mobile cranes, ship cranes,
wheel loaders, drilling equipment and
rail-mounted cranes.
Bucher Hydraulics added that the
SVC25 is available with various input
modules for variable or fixed displacement pumps. The manufacturer
also offers optional features such as
peak pressure reducing valves or a
pilot pressure supply unit that can be
switched off, work as a safety circuit
(when activated, it disengages the
manual operation function).
Ancillary anti-shock or anti-cavitation
valves are also available, as well as
a combination of both, which can be
adjusted independently of each other.
Upstream two-way pressure compensators offer the advantage of a
pressure cutoff, for A and B sides separately, while further options include
electrically/proportionally adjustable
pressure cutoffs, the company said.
The SVC25 valves are available
with SAE flange connectors along with
conventional threaded connectors. dp
