Comer’s Active Jump Control designed to make
machines easier on operators
The Active Jump Control (AJC) by Comer Industries is a feedback control system to
monitor the surface roughness of
work areas covered by an agricultural
machine to provide a smoother ride
for the operator.
Comer’s AJC comprises a system
of anti-detachment springs, electronically controlled shock absorbers,
accelerometers and a control unit.
The control unit modulates the damping coefficient of the shock absorbers,
according to acceleration and movement speed of the equipment working
at right angles to the ground.
The accelerometers positioned on
the mower-conditioner unit indicate,
in real time, the irregular conditions
of the terrain on which the sliding
shoe rests. This data is processed
by the control unit, which sends a
damping coefficient to each shock
absorber according to the detected
acceleration and speed values. This
is designed to ensure adequate grip
on the terrain and to reduce pressure
to the ground, Comer said.
