The ANTS machine con-
stantly measures vari-
ous parameters related
to the environmental
conditions, Valtra said.
Information that is
important to the opera-
tion or function being
performed is superim-
posed as a heads-up
display (HUD) on win-
dow surfaces.
can be combined, creating the ANTS
Queen with three axles, eight wheels
and an output of up to 400 k W.
Either one of the modules can be
equipped with cab or without a work
cabin, based on whether or not an
operator is required.
“The modules are built around, or on,
a rail-like spinal core, where different
kinds of implements can be attached,”
said Tommi Pitenius, director of infor-
mation at Valtra. “Our ANTS concept
has moved away from the hydraulics.
Most functions are based on elec-
tric motors and actuators. In case
older implements require hydraulics,
the pressure can be generated using
water-based hydraulics.”
The ANTS’ drivetrain comprises
an electric motor located in each
of the wheels. The two units share
a similar powertrain platform. The
smaller unit, the Valtra ANTS 100,
has in its basic form a battery-
based power source with a turbine
generator backup. The larger ANTS
200 module utilizes a biogas-electric
hybrid power source.
