BY KYLE KOPPLIN
Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp. (FCCC), a Gaffney, S.C., division of Daimler
Trucks North America, has added two
new products to its commercial bus
chassis lineup. According to FCCC,
both the S2 cutaway and XB-P chassis were designed to fill the demand
created by customers in specific segments of the commercial bus market.
The development of the S2 chassis
was driven by commercial bus manu-
facturers in need of an alternative to
a traditional truck chassis that pro-
vided the same reliability, durability
and maneuverability as other FCCC
chassis, the company said. The XB-P
chassis was engineered for custom-
ers seeking a durable luxury coach
chassis at a competitive price point,
said FCCC.
The XB-P chassis from FCCC is driven by a Cummins ISM engine
rated 450 hp at 1200 rpm, and incorporates an Allison B-500 six-speed
transmission.
