SPECIAL
REPORT
While often thought of as a construction or utility machine, skid-steer loaders are some of the most commonly used types of equipment in
agriculture. Machines from suppliers such as Bobcat, thanks to their size and range of attachments, can efficiently and effectively handle
a multitude of tasks on the farm.
THE ENGINES AT WORK
ON THE FARM
Today’s farms rely on more than tractors and combines; fertile ground for skid-steer loaders,
telehandlers, gen-sets and pumps
BY KYLE KOPPLIN
O
ver the years, the objec- tive of farming has been the same — manage a product
until it is ready for harvest and sale.
And even though the products come
in all shapes, sizes and species, each
is handled with the same degree of
care and dedication, as they repre-
sent the livelihood of those who care
for them. Yet while the end goal has
remained the same, many of the tools
the farmer employs in the process
have changed quite a bit.
