Signal Conditioners

Axiomatic has introduced a new signal conditioner that is designed to provide signal conversion and isolation between two incompatible signals. The new AX130200 signal conditioner is designed to allow the system integrator to connect several different devices in an engine or machine control system. The signal conditioner converts a Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) signal between 50 Hz to 50 kHz into a zero to 20 mA current signal and provides full isolation between input, output and power supply, the company said. Other current or voltages are also inputs available on request. The unit is packaged within an IP40 housing and the

PCB is conformal coated to provide further protection against moisture, dust, chemicals
and temperature extremes.

Protective Hose Sleeves
Eaton Corp. has developed a
new hose sleeve that is engi-
neered to protect equipment
operators from potential injuries
resulting from hose failures.
The new Guardian hose sleeve
incorporates an ultra-tight poly-
amide six-weave construction
that helps it restrain hose bursts at pressures up to 16,000 psi, the company said. The
Guardian hose sleeve, which is also designed to deflect 1 mm pinhole leaks at 4000
psi, offers durability of up to 250,000 abrasion cycles, Eaton said. It is compatible with
the majority of chemicals associated with fluid-conveyance applications and meets the
new “line of sight” operator protection regulations EN982 ISO norm 833 EN414 and
ISO 3457, as well as industry standards for abrasion and flame resistance. The sleeve
is available for - 4 though - 24 hose sizes.

Smart Position Sensors
Honeywell has introduced two new configurations
to its smart position sensor (SPS) Series. The
100° and 180° arc configurations are designed
to detect the position of a magnet relative to a
sensor in either of two sensing ranges (zero to
100° or zero to 180° degrees) and are suitable
for a variety of applications in the transporta-
tion, industrial and military sectors, the company
said. The SPS 100° and 180° arc configurations
have 0.5 to 4. 5 Vdc analog output. The 100° configuration measures values down to
0.06°, while the 180° configuration measures values down to 0.11°, Honeywell said.
Because there are no moving parts within the sensing element, Honeywell seals the
sensor, making it resistant to vibration, shock and extreme temperatures, allowing
use in many harsh applications.
