With the release of its new gen-
eration of 4496 PTO, Stiebel Drive
Technology has introduced improve-
ments to its concrete pump car gear-
box. In addition to a stronger shifting
hub locking mechanism, the company
said it added three spring-loaded balls
at the input and drive-through shaft-
protected seal rings. By incorporating
a new seal cover, Stiebel said the
radial shaft seals are more protected
from dust, mud and splash water. A
newly shaped and die-cast housing
yields reduced weight but with an
increase in strength and durability,
the company said.

Vibratech TVD has released a new
torsional viscous damper designed
for Caterpillar C10, C12 and C13
engines used in medium- and heavy-duty truck applications.

Zero-Max has fitted its adjustable
speed drives with the new Micro Dial
feature, which provides accurate and
repeatable speed settings. According
to the company, this allows users to
more accurately set and reset various
speeds to meet performance levels
for different applications. When used
in an ag seeder cart application, for
example, different settings can be
made more accurately for dispensing
corn, wheat, oats, etc.

ZF introduced a new generation of
its Ecomix transmission for concrete
mixers. The new CML 10 (Concrete
Mixer Low speed) mixer transmission
is designed for concrete mixers up to
23. 5 cu.yd. drum capacity with output
torques up to 45,728 lb.ft.
The new transmission is approximately 20% lighter and 50% shorter
than the previous unit, the company
said. Along with that, an improvement in bearing design resulted in a
significant increase in output bearing
strength, which leads to greater durability in gruelling, off-road operations,
the company said. With the new bearing concept, the installation angle is
no longer dependent on drum size and
drum filling, and installation angles up
to 20° are possible, ZF said.
Serviceability has been improved
thanks to a weight-optimized low-speed hydrostatic motor and separate
oil for the transmission and hydrostatics as well as improved accessibility.
A cassette seal replaces the previous
sealing collar, which is intended to
enhance durability and service life.
