In addition, all Professional Series
engines include aluminum blocks with
Dura-Bore cast-iron cylinder sleeves,
heavy-duty Teflon-coated bronze
sleeve bearings and chrome-plated
exhaust valves, all of which target
reduced wear and enhanced durability and service life. Super-polished
crankshaft journals and connecting
rod bearings further reduce friction
and heat, and also help extend engine
component life, the company said.
Structural rigidity is enhanced by
the newly designed, ribbed cylinder
block structure and commercial-grade
sump gasket designed to provide
superior oil sealing.
Other commercial-grade features
include heavier rubber lip seals around
the double-barrel carburetor to prevent
the possibility of debris entry. A commercial Vanguard-type starting system
that includes a steel pinion and higher
output starter helps provide more consistent starting under heavy loads and in
cooler temperatures, the company said.
