The engines are built by Daedong
in Korea and supplied and supported through Kioti’s Wendell,
N.C., headquarters for the North
American market. Kioti Tractor is a
division of Daedong also headquartered in Wendell.
The Kioti engine range incorporates 12 diesels. Kioti said the
engines are EPA Tier 4 interim and
Europe Stage 3a compliant. The
engines can be customized to meet
a range of OEM requirements, the
company added.

KOHLER
gross power output of 9. 8 hp at
3600 rpm, as well as peak torque
of 17 lb.ft. at 2200 rpm and a fuel
tank capacity of 1.325 gal. Kohler
KD 420 is targeted at commercial,
industrial and outdoor power applications including hydroseeders,
water pumps, pressure washers,
air compressors, two-wheel tractors,
agricultural mowers and portable
power generators.
With the introduction of the KD
420, Kohler Engines now has five air-cooled diesel engine models below
the 25. 5 hp category, all EPA Tier 4
final compliant, the company said.
Other Tier 4 final engines include the
6. 7 hp model KD350 and the 8. 8 hp
KD 420, both single-cylinder engines;
and the two-cylinder KD 425-2 rated
18. 8 hp, KD 477-2 rated 21. 7 hp and
KD625-2 rated 25. 2 hp.
Kohler Engines has introduced its
Kohler Courage XT- 6 Utility engine,
putting a finishing touch on the
Courage XT-Series, designed specifically for consumer walk-behind mower
and utility outdoor power equipment
applications. The Kohler Courage
XT- 6 Utility is a vertical-shaft, 3. 75 net
hp (149 cc) engine.
With the introduction of its Kohler
Courage XT- 6 Utility engine, the
Courage XT-Series lineup features
six models available with recoil and
electric start options, the Courage
XT-Series is targeted primarily at
walk-behind lawn mowers.
Add the “Utility” designation to
either a Courage XT- 6 or a Courage
XT- 7 and outdoor power equipment
manufacturers can get the same
core engine plus increased versatility and customization options. As for
the differences between XT- 6 and
the 4. 75 hp XT- 7, Kohler Engines
said it designed the XT- 6 for the
applications where size and weight
matter most, and XT- 7 for consumer lawn and utility equipment that
calls for a premium level of power.
