New from ReliOn is the E-2500 fuel
cell system, the third model in its E
series targeted toward backup power
applications. The new fuel cell system
has a power output of 2. 5 kW in a
chassis that is 60% smaller than the
2.0 k W T-2000, ReliOn said.
The development of the E-2500 utilizes patented modular, fault-tolerant
aspects of ReliOn’s fuel cell systems
in higher-density power modules and
is housed in an 8U 23 in. rack-mount-able package.
As with all of ReliOn’s fuel cell
products, emissions have been limited to warm air and a small amount
of water, making it exempt from the
most stringent air quality standards,
the company said.

With the ability to be a scalable
backup power solution, the E-2500
fuel cell system can provide 24 hours
of power for equipment needing up to
10 kW of power. Higher power configurations are also available.
According to the company, the first
systems were delivered to customers
this quarter and orders are currently
being taken for further E-2500 sys-
tems. ReliOn said it has delivered more
than 3. 3 MW of product to more than
1150 commercial customer sites in 21
countries. Its products are used in wire-
less telecommunication, including wire-
line telecommunications, government,
security, and utility communications and
transportation networks. ReliOn prod-
ucts can be used for backup power and
site hardening in both traditional configu-
rations and as integrated with solar and
wind power.
