Brushless Electric Motors
Heinzmann has expanded its series of
brushless disc-type electric motors with
the model SL-EC 80-11B, which rep-
resents the smallest drive in the series
to date. The short design is a char-
acteristic of the Heinzmann series of
disc-type motors. The drive can also be
designed with an integrated controller,
which offers customers a plug-and-play option, the company said.
The SL-EC 80-11B is available in a variety of designs and motor
sizes. It can be used for a wide range of applications, including
Hall effect sensors, revolvers, brakes and gears.

Service-Free U-Joints

Dana Holding Corp. has
introduced service-free
U-joints for its heavy-
duty Spicer Life Series
(SPL) driveshafts, which
incorporate a perma-
nently lubricated driveline that reduces maintenance costs over
the life of the product, the company said. The new SPL-250 and
SPL-170 service-free U-joints target main and tandem drive inter-
axle driveshaft applications for a variety of Class 8 heavy-duty
truck applications. Dana recently upgraded the performance and
durability of its entire lineup of SPL heavy-duty universal joints.
Enhancements feature a new bearing package that includes
larger needle bearings for increased capacity, a special Viton
synthetic seal for improved grease retention and a thermoplastic
seal guard to exclude contaminants. A new premium synthetic
lubricant provides further improvement in bearing life, Dana said.

capability, are designed for agricultural, industrial and mobile
applications. The cylinders are made from durable materials
designed to withstand off-highway application conditions and
are offered in both ASAE standard models and a range of cus-
tom stroke lengths, the company said.
Features of the cylinders include single- and double-acting
designs; bores from 2 to 4 in.; rod diameters from 1. 12 to 2 in.;
strokes up to 7. 25 ft. in increments of 0.25 in.; and ASAE-type
heavy-duty ductile iron base and rod clevis ends with or without
clear, zinc-plated clevis pins and clips.
