The Liquid
Level Sender (LLS)
SV185 loaders are powered by IHI Shibaura Machinery ISM
N844T/M3 diesel engines with outputs ranging from 46 to 57
hp, while the SR200, SR220, SR250, SV250 and SV300 are
powered by Case 432T/M3 engines built by Fiat Powertrain
rated 70 to 90 hp. Like the Alpha Series CTLs, the cooling
package incorporates an Adams Thermal radiator with a
Rosati fan, while the water pump is provided as part of the
engine package from the engine supplier.
The Alpha Series SSLs also use an electrohydraulic drive
pump from Bosch Rexroth and a Sauer-Danfoss mechani-
cal drive pump, along with Bosch Rexroth drive motors
and CNH-designed axles. According to Case, the single-
reduction chain drive is provided by iwis drive systems, while
a Shimadzu gear pump and Walvoil loader control valve
provide hydraulic system functions.
Case has incorporated its new Power Stance chassis
design into the Alpha Series SSL line, which it said features
an up to 22% longer wheelbase than the company’s 400
Series models. According to Goettel, this will give the load-
ers greater stability, allowing operators to lift and haul more
material. Additionally, when combined with a 30/70 front/rear
weight distribution, the new chassis keeps the loader’s center
of gravity from shifting when its arms are raised, he said.
Throughout the Alpha Series models, Case said it has
increased cab size by 25% in comparison to its 400 Series
models. “The spacious cabs are ideal for the long, hard days
that operators spend in the equipment,” Goettel said. In addition
to a larger cab area, the company installed a new climate man-
agement system in the Alpha Series line, which is designed to
reduce the amount of noise and dust within the cab.
Production for the Alpha Series loader line began in
February at Case’s Witchita, Kan., facility. Shipments to the
more than 700 Case and Case IH dealerships across North
America began in March. dp
