New ASCO 7000 Series Power Control Center
engineered to meet seismic standards
Expanding the capability of its Medium Voltage Power Transfer Switches (MVPTS),
Emerson Network Power has
launched the ASCO 7000 Series
Power Control Center. According to
the company, the addition improves
the system’s communication capabilities and allows for better management of circuit breaker operation.
The ASCO Power Control Center is
an advanced microprocessor controller that incorporates all voltage, frequency, control, timing and diagnostic
functions required for most emergency and standby power applications,
the company said. It also qualifies
for industrial and outdoor installations
and recently received seismic certification, Emerson added.
The Power Control Center was inde-
pendently tested to prove its opera-
tion during and after a severe seismic
event. As part of extensive shake test-
ing, the 7000 Series was certified on a
tri-axial seismic simulator, which repli-
cated disaster situations that subjected
the equipment to thousands of pounds
of force, Emerson said.
