Intelligent Motor Controllers
Trombetta-Tympanium’s revers-
ible Intelligent Motor Controller can be
customized to meet dc motor applica-
tion requirements, is capable of switch-
ing loads up to 100 Amp and provides
braking along with smooth transitions
between forward and reverse direc-
tions. The controller can incorporate preset limits to protect the electrical system,
including over-voltage protection, over-current protection, over-temperature
shutdown, low-voltage disconnect, end of travel and stalled motor detection,
Trombetta said. In addition, the Intelligent Motor Controller can be customized to
provide controls such as proportional speed, programmed acceleration/decelera-
tion and battery separation in multi-battery systems. Featuring a voltage range of
6 to 48 Vdc and an IP66/67 rating, the Intelligent Motor Controller is suited for
controlling dc motors used in applications such as switchgear and various electro-
hydraulic applications.

Wireless Data Nodes
Onset, a worldwide supplier of data
loggers, has launched the HOBO ZW
Series, a family of wireless data nodes
for centralized monitoring of energy
use and environmental conditions in
buildings. The HOBO ZW Series data
nodes are designed to reduce the cost
and complexity of data collection by
measuring, recording and transmitting real-time energy use and environmental
data to a central computer, Onset said. HOBO data nodes are different from traditional data loggers because they work together in a self-healing wireless network
to transmit logged data to a computer at regular intervals, whereas someone needs
to retrieve data from individual data loggers. The nodes can measure temperature,
relatively humidity, kilowatt hours, CO2, ac voltage, amperes and gauge pressure.

Oil Additive For Gas Engines
Chevron Oronite is releasing OLOA 46600, a new additive developed specifically
for engines operating in landfill, biomass and digester gas operations, such as
low methane, high moisture and corrosive gases. The additive has been tested in
several late-model engines to verify its performance, Chevron said, adding that it
has the capabilities to extend drain intervals up to 50%, while reducing piston and
chamber deposits. With lower deposit levels, premature engine wear can be prevented and maintenance intervals extended, the company said.

IPD, an aftermarket provider of engine components for heavy-duty diesel and natural
gas-powered engines, has launched a new line of replacement parts for Caterpillar C9
engine applications. This product line includes 75 new part numbers, including components for an in-frame overhaul kit, as well as pistons, cylinder sleeves, rings, bearings,
