New Gen-Set Panels
From Controls Inc.
Continuing to broaden its range of controls and instru- mentation for power generation applications, Controls Inc.,
the Medina, Ohio, manufacturer
of engine and generator set control technology, has introduced a
new series of generator panels that
combines its C series engine display module with traditional analog
ac meters. The new 8500 series
panels are designed for use with
both mechanical engines and electronically controlled operating on
J1939 communications protocols
with manual and auto start versions
available, the company said.
“We saw a need for a basic panel
that could be installed outdoors with-
out having to add additional enclo-
sure protection,” said Bob Cowen,
Controls Inc. president. “The value of
this package is significant based on
the overall installation costs. All of the
engine control is digital, allowing sim-
ple additions of shutdown switches
and output alarms, while the ac side
takes on the more simplistic meter
and phase switch approach.
