Discrete I/O Module For Gen-Sets
Axiomatic Technologies has expanded its family of I/O modules for engine applications with
the new CANopen Discrete I/O Module for
extending power generator set control networks. The Discrete I/O Module is engineered
to read 12 discrete inputs and set eight Form
C relay outputs ( 2 Amp at 125 Vac, 2 Amp at
277 Vac or 2 Amp at 32 Vdc) while providing
a simple interface between a CANopen network and other electronic devices in an engine
control system. The unit is an automotive
battery-powered device with the ability to withstand engine cranking, reverse polarity
and transient power conditions, Axiomatic said. Power supply input for the device is 12,
24 or 48 Vdc nominal. It is encapsulated in rugged housing and is suitable for moist,
high-shock, vibrating and nonhazardous environments.
Auxiliary Battery Switches
InPower has introduced a battery switch designed to
charge a vehicle auxiliary battery and isolate it from the
vehicle’s chassis battery and alternator. The solid-state
auxiliary battery switch/electronic battery separator is
designed to replace diode-based battery isolators and
mechanical solenoid-type battery separator/isolators
and is available in 100, 150, 175 and 200 Amp versions.
In operation, the auxiliary battery is charged from the chassis battery and alternator
while the chassis battery is protected from auxiliary battery load discharge. InPower
said the auxiliary battery switch targets a wide range of vehicle applications, such
as work trucks where dual batteries are frequently installed; Class 3 through Class 5
ambulance/rescue vehicles, tow trucks, recovery vehicles, small cranes, service trucks
and telecom vehicles; and trucks up to Class 8 with large dual-battery systems.

Turbo Thruster II
BD Diesel Performance has created the
Turbo Thruster II for 1994 to 2003 Ford 7. 3
L power strokes. The turbo thruster provides
up to a 40% increase in airflow with no compressor surging or choke-off turbine flow,
the company said. The turbo thruster incorporates a hot isostatic pressed compressor
wheel with a 0.22 in. inducer and a 0.29 in.
exducer to handle high wheel speeds, as
well as a 1.0 A/R turbine housing to handle
higher exhaust pressures, BD Diesel said.
The product is designed as a direct, bolt-in
replacement and is capable of developing
up to 36 psi of boost pressure with the com-
pany’s heavy-duty waste gate with turnbuckle adjustment.
