GOING ANOTHER MILE
Cleaire receives CARB extension for LongMile DPF; now certified for retrofit on ’ 94 to ’06 on-highway diesels
San Leandro, Calif.-based Cleaire Advanced Emission Controls has received an
extension to the LongMile diesel particulate filter (DPF) verification from
the California Air Resources Board
(CARB). The extension makes the
LongMile applicable to essentially all
model-year 1994 to 2006 four-cycle
engines, allowing trucks and buses
powered by engines equipped with
diesel oxidation catalysts (DOCs) to
be retrofitted with the DPF.
“While only introduced in late 2010,
customer demand for LongMile’s
many advantages has made it our
best-selling product,” said Gale
Plummer, Cleaire CEO. “We’re
pleased that CARB’s extension allows
for an even broader range of engines
to be retrofit with the LongMile.”
The LongMile is a passive DPF
designed for on-highway retrofit appli-
cations. It is a CARB Level 3 Plus
verified system with compliance to
greater that 85% reduction of PM.
The filter is compatible with ULSD
and up to B20, Cleaire said.
The DPF is engineered for use
with 5. 3 to 16 L engines with certi-
fication for the family of Caterpillar
ACERT diesel engines as well as
engines from Cummins, Detroit
Diesel, International, Mack, GM, Hino,
Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Perkins,
Scania, Volvo, Isuzu, Mitsubishi,
Renault and Daimler.
