Volvo offering newest F-Series articulated hauler chassis for customization
Volvo Construction Equipment is tapping into the vehicle customization market by of-
fering its newest articulated hauler
chassis for customers to adapt to their
individual application requirements.
Under Volvo’s Hauler Chassis program, customers can order any of
six new F-Series articulated haulers without load bodies or hoist cylinders. Then the customer, Volvo
dealer or third-party body builder can
modify the chassis to suit the specific
transport solution required. Volvo said
popular options include timber haulers, water tanks, hook lifts, ejector
bodies and fifth wheels for pulling a
wide range of trailers.
The six F-Series models have load
capacities ranging from 28 tons for
the A25F to 44. 6 tons for the A40F. A
bolt-on frame extension is also avail-
able for the A25F and A30F-based
chassis. The extension — offered in
47 and 67 in. lengths — allows longer
or larger superstructures. Under the
Hauler Chassis program, a selection
of optional equipment is available, as
well as hydraulic interfaces to suit a
range of superstructures. Along with
the standard machine hydraulics, an
auxiliary open or closed center sys-
tem is available that allows for super-
structures’ connection without further
modifications, Volvo said.
