Brown Gets VP Post At Kohler
Power Systems
David Brown
has been promoted
to Kohler Co.’s
vice president of
sales for the com-
pany’s Kohler Power
Systems Americas
division. In that posi-
tion, Brown directs
all North American
sales activities of industrial generator sets,
electrical controls, switchgear and automat-
ic transfer switches through direct sales,
national accounts and distribution chan-
nel partners. Brown joined Kohler Power
Systems in 2008 as the director of indus-
trial solutions and national accounts.

Arthurs President At
Cummins Westport
Cummins Westport has appointed Jim
Arthurs as president of the company. Arthurs
was previously vice president of Westport
Cryogenic Systems. Prior to joining Westport
in 2011, Arthers was a managing partner and
co-founder of i3 Transition Partners LLP, a
management consulting firm that specializes
in business assessments and helping compa-
nies plan for and implement strategic change.
Arthurs has worked with several compa-
nies as an operations executive, including
Integrated Paving Concepts, an industrial
technology company; MacMillan Bloedel,
where he was part of a team-initiated change
in strategy to its $2 billion building materials
distribution business; and The Loewen Group.
In addition, Arthurs was managing director of
Operations for the Jim Pattison Group — one
of Canada’s largest privately held companies.
He spent the first 16 years of his career
with IBM in a wide range of sales and
management positions. Arthurs is cur-
rently a director and chairman of the Audit
Committee of Western Forest Products,
one of British Columbia, Canada’s largest
forest products companies.
New CEO For Komatsu America
Komatsu America
Corp. has named
Rod Schrader as its
CEO and vice chair-
man, effective April 1.
Schrader, a 25-year
veteran of Komatsu
America, replaces
Dave Grzelak, who
stepped down as
CEO, but remains chairman of Komatsu
America until the end of June 2013.
Prior to his new appointment, Schrader
was executive vice president and general
manager of the Mining Division, Komatsu
America Corp. He began his career with the
company in 1987 and held positions in var-
ied areas within Komatsu including product
manager; manager, large equipment sales;
director, marketing; vice president, product
marketing; and president, Komatsu Utility
Corp. Schrader was appointed as a Komatsu
America Corp. board member in July 2010.
