The National Fluid Power Association
(NFPA) is accepting nominations for the
2012 Fluid Power Innovation Award, a fluid
power technology award program for inno-
vative engineers and technicians who are
using fluid power to address the needs of
their customers.
Stiebel Drive Technology Inc., the
North American operation of Germany’s
Stiebel-Getriebebau GmbH & Co. KG, a
global manufacturer of advanced drive tech-
nology such as gearboxes and pump drives,
has moved into a new larger facility in
Greenville, S.C. The new site includes offic-
es and a 4000 sq.ft. warehouse area, with
space available for the planned addition of
assembly operations and technical support.
The company said the move is intended to
enable it to better serve its current North
American customer base and continue to
expand its business in the region.
Generac Power Systems Inc., a manufac-
turer of backup power generation equipment,
announced it will commit $5 million to $6 mil-
lion to expanding and remodeling its head-
quarters and an additional $3 million to $4 mil-
lion in upgrades to create a technical center.
Cummins Inc. announced it has re-
ceived certification from the Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA) and the California
Air Resources Board (CARB) for two new
school bus ratings. These new ratings for
the ISB6.7 bus engine include 220 hp with
520 lb.ft. of torque and 250 hp with 660 lb.ft.
of torque. Cummins said its ability to deliver
these new ratings can be attributed to its sys-
tem integration capability, from the air intake
to the selective catalytic reduction (SCR)
aftertreatment system, designed and devel-
oped in house. Cummins said production of
the new ratings was scheduled for February.
Subaru has announced a new five-year
warranty for its industrial engines and select
lines of power products. The new warranty
covers labor rates for authorized dealers, dis-
tributors and service centers. Engines covered
by the new warranty include the full line of
EX Series ( 4. 3 to 14 hp), as well as three EH
Series V-twin engines ( 20. 5 to 28 hp). In addi-
tion to engines, the new warranty covers the
full line of RGX Industrial Series and Inverter
Series generators, and all gasoline-powered
pumps including centrifugal, semi-trash, trash
and diaphragm series. Subaru engines and
power products are marketed and supported
in North America by Robin America Inc., a
subsidiary of Fuji Heavy Industries.
